The Charlotte Observer reports that it took nine months for charges to be file because state authorities had to wait for the lab results to determine that the products were anabolic steroids.

"Police had searched Gore's home in June 2007, but charges were delayed because they had to wait for lab test results from the State Bureau of Investigation, Lahser said."
