    The tendency of SSRI anti-depressant medications to spark outbursts of violence, particularly in the initial phases of treatment, is well-documented anecdotally in the medical literature. In the United States, the pharmaceutical companies have done pretty effective "damage control" to limit black box warnings to child and adolescent prescription. However, warnings about the increased risk of suicidality, aggression and outbursts of violent behavior have prompted other western nations - such as Canada - to also issue such warnings for use of the drugs by adults.
