The FOX news 13 affiliate in Tampa reported that Sheriff Bob White stated Philon was arrested on a hydrocodone distribution charge. I listened to the press conference but I didn't hear any such statement.

"At around 12:00 p.m., investigators said the situation had come to an end, and Philon had been arrested. Shortly after that, Sheriff Bob White confirmed that both Philon and another deputy, Corporal Don Riggans, had been arrested on drug-related charges.

"Sheriff White said both men were charged with conspiracy to distribute hydrocodone, and both men were fired from their positions at the sheriff's office. He said Corporal Riggans was arrested when he arrived at work Sunday morning."

The CBS affiliate WTSP-TV in Tampa describes Philon's involvement as follows:

"38-year old Philon and another Pasco deputy, 34-year old Don Riggans, and two other men 38-year old Robert Caddick of Oviedo and 32-year old Kevin Massimino of Tampa, are all charged with manufacturing, distribution, dispensing and possession of a controlled substance. Officials say Riggans conspired with Massimino and Caddick to distribute hydrocodone, a painkiller also known as Vicodin."

The Tampa Tribune reports the following online about Philon:

"Philon, 38, is charged with conspiracy to traffic in hydrocodone, jail records show. "
